Hello,

I founded Young Careers to bridge the gap between school and the workplace. I have 25 years’ experience in career development, recruitment and management consultancy and have previously led as well as managed multi-national recruitment businesses, both directly and as a Non-Executive Director. Highlights include designing and consulting on graduate recruitment programmes for some of the world’s most recognised brands as well as heavily funded start-ups.  Recruiting for a broad cross section of industries, in a wide variety of roles across all functions within an organisation, enables me to offer both comprehensive advice and assess which path/course a young student’s skills and interests might be best served.

Young Careers is building a network of professional academics, coaches and recruiters to share their expertise with the next generation entering the workplace.

About

How we work

Our approach comes from many years’ experience in the recruitment market in London offering career advice and mentoring. In a 1:1 career session, we work closely with individuals to tailor a plan to suit their requirements. Our small but growing team of experts across all fields in the workplace enables us to offer the best possible advice. We keep our advice and content as up to date as possible by remaining in close contact with our networks to stay informed of the changing employment landscape.

WHAT THEY SAY

“Tray was fantastic with my son, who, although knew what he wanted to study at university, was suffering from writer’s block regarding his personal statement and for all of us, the whole subject of UCAS was becoming increasingly stressful. Tray initially took time to understand Jack’s university and future career aspirations. She then gave fantastic guidance including suggested ideas with regards to work experience and activities that would support the UCAS application process. Tray also offered very practical advice regarding the construction of the personal statement and suggested timelines. Overall, the external one to one support seemed to work far better than attempts at parental guidance and reduced stress levels in the house! Jack had five good offers, so we are really delighted with the outcome, thank you”.
