CV writing

In truth this is an ongoing task that can continually be finessed, fine tuned and asked for opinion on. If you think it’s too early to begin writing in Sixth Form, it isn't. You have your GCSEs under your belt and you will no doubt have already got a bit of work experience or volunteering under your belt. If you haven't, it’s good to begin to format your CV and capture your early school and work record to see where you need to improve and plug some gaps. It’s amazing how motivating it can be to capture early information and see how much it galvanises you into action. A good place to start is to mind map what you want to include just to ensure there is nothing you may have missed. Once you have done this, review with your parents or a friend to check. It’s an exercise school will usually undertake early in Lower Sixth, but if your school doesn’t, do take the time to do it. Once you have captured the basics make a plan of what you want to include throughout the next academic stage, so what else would be good to include before the end of Sixth Form for example, or what else would be good to achieve before starting Uni. If you need some help with this, do get in touch.
